Today in class we utilized adobe indesign to lay out our two page spread. While using indesign I felt pretty comfortable with everything its not much different from other similar programs that I have actually used it has a lot of the same basic things as the other programs. There are some things in Indesign has that I was unfamiliar with but they were fairly easy to learn and get a hold of and overall didn't make me feel overwhelmed. I think I will end up using Indesign to make my revisions later on. Overall Indesign was fairly easy to learn and use and I will continue to use it for my project revisions.

My Target Audience
For my target audience I thought of them as either gender and the age would be fairly young maybe 20-40 years old because I feel that people around that age range have more time and the ability to take their pets out to the places I wrote about like the pet friendly beaches and hotels. I would make my magazine appealing to younger people as well maybe as young as high school students because they'll start getting jobs and would probably want to start doing things with their pets. For geography my target audience will be mostly local due to the contents of my magazine being mostly local activities and articles. For personal interest my target audience is people who like to do a lot with their pets like taking them to parks and beaches and on trips. My magazine will be appealing to these type of people because it'll have their interest when it comes to their pets and it will also be visually appealing throughout the magazine keeping the readers attention.

Feedback and Revisions
Based of my feedback I plan to make a few revisions throughout my project to make it better. To start off with my cover I was told to move my text near the top so it doesn't cover the horses ears as much. Besides the top text i'm pretty happy with how the cover came out as a whole. As for the table of contents i'm happy with the pictures and how the formatting turned out. I would change a lot from the table of context starting with adding some design around to make it less plain and then I will make everything a bit simpler and nicer and more pleasing to see. For my main article I would like to have around three pictures spread nicely around the page with one long picture spread across the page horizontally. Overall these changes will make my project better because they will be more pleasing to see and have a better format.

Use of conventions
My magazine uses conventions similar to other magazines seen today because it keeps the title on the top and makes it the biggest thing on the cover. I also had the titles of other big articles on the cover and had some words different colors to draw attention. I made my magazine similar to a Practical Horseman magazine. The social groups I represent are people that love animals and probably own a farm or own a few pets. The purpose of my magazine is to help people take better care of their animals and to train them better and to give them activities to do with their pets.

Interview
For my main article that’s also an interview I’ll be doing an interview with an employee from Prospect riding center. For the first half of the page I’ll write about the farm and what they’re all about. Prospect is a farm that teaches horseback riding for special children so I’ll definitely be writing about that. For the interview with the employee I will be asking a few questions. For my first question I’ll ask about the farm and what they’re all about so we’ll have an opinion from and someone that actually works there. For my second question I’ll ask about what they do different to teach horseback riding to theses special children as opposed to teaching horseback riding to other kids. For my third question I’ll ask what makes Prospect different to other farms that have a similar mission. Finally I’ll end the interview and go over a brief description of the farm and their goals. I’ll also add around three or four small pictures that won’t get in the way of the interview but will also make the page look better.
